Porque / Why

Porque hay un estado generalizado de falta de educación, información e ignorancia en cuanto a temas pertinentes al embarazo, opciones para el parto, salud reproductiva e intervenciones innecesarias durante el alumbramiento en los EUA.

El cuidado de la salud femenina es uno de los asuntos por los cuales he desarrollado un interés asiduo en los últimos años. Haberme convertido en madre y tener dos cesáreas totalmente prevenibles me ha hecho entender que una aproximación diferente al cuidado maternal es indispensable para empoderar a una nueva generación de mujeres a reclamar el parto.

Necesitamos obstetras progresivos que trabajen para reducir las tazas de cesáreas innecesarias en el mundo. Las cirugías abdominales innecesarias como método de traer niños al mundo se han convertido en una epidemia en los EUA. Las intervenciones tecnológicas innecesarias han sustituido a la naturaleza…es hora de volver a nuestros orígenes. En ellos encontraremos soluciones viables y fuerza para reformar nuestro presente y construir nuestro futuro.

Because there is a generalized state of misinformation, miseducation, and ignorance regarding issues of pregnancy, choices in childbirth, reproductive health and unnecessary interventions during birth in the USA.

Women’s healthcare is at the top of a list of issues I have become most invested in throughout the years. Becoming a mother, and having two preventable c-sections has made me look at how a different approach in maternity care can empower a new generation of women to reclaim birth. 

We need supportive and progressive OBs to work towards bringing the alarmingly high numbers of unnecessary c-sections in this country down. Unnecessary major abdominal surgery as a way of bringing children into the world has become an epidemic in the USA. Unnecessary high tech interventions have substituted the way of nature…it’s definitely time to go back to basics.
